Glossary

• Job — a single unit of work (one conversion, one signing run) that runs in the background and appears in the Job Queue.
• Job Queue — the shared list of active and recent jobs, with progress and per-job actions.
• Batch — a group of jobs created together, such as every file in one drop.
• Utility — one of the seven built-in tools. Utilities can be turned on or off individually.
• Output folder — the root location where all utilities save, each into its own subfolder.
• Document engine — the LibreOffice component, downloaded once on demand, that Office and OpenDocument conversions use.
• Watch folder — a folder BizTray monitors, converting matching files automatically.
• Rule — one watch folder plus the pattern it matches, the conversion it runs, and what happens to the original.
• Text layer — the machine-readable text inside a PDF. A scanned PDF has none, which is why it can't be converted to text.
• Flatten — baking PDF form fields into the page so they can no longer be edited.
• Owner restrictions — permission flags on a PDF that block editing or printing, as distinct from a password that blocks opening it.
• Tray — the small icons near the Windows clock. BizTray runs here and reopens when you click its icon.
• Channel — the update track you follow: Stable (tested) or Beta (earlier, more risk).
