The engines, named plainly

The engines, named plainly — there are two, on purpose.

Interactive edits: pdf-lib — reorder, delete, assemble
Batch and large files: pdfcpu — split, merge, extract at scale
Thumbnails: PDFium (WebAssembly build)
Limits: No page cap, no file-size cap
Platform: Windows 10/11 (x64) — runs fully on your machine

Two engines rather than one because they are genuinely good at different things: pdf-lib loads a document into memory and is ideal for interactive editing, while pdfcpu streams and handles the large or batched jobs that would otherwise exhaust memory. Encrypted files go to a third — see PDF Tools.
