PDF Tools

The finishing pass. Stamp a watermark across a document, add page numbers, flatten a filled form so it cannot be edited further, clean up the metadata a file carries, and add or remove a password you know.

Finished PDFs land in your Organized folder.

What you can do with it

Handy things people use PDF Tools for

A few real-world jobs it makes quick — you'll find plenty more.

  • Watermark a draft DRAFT before circulating it for comment.
  • Number the pages of a document assembled from several sources.
  • Flatten a completed form so the fields cannot be altered.
  • Strip the author and software metadata before sending a file out.

What it does

Everything PDF Tools handles

A focused set of jobs, each done well — and nothing that phones home.

Watermarks

Text or image, across every page or a range, with the position and opacity you choose.

Page numbers

Add numbering in the position and format you want, including on documents merged from several sources.

Protect

Add a password so the document cannot be opened without it.

Unlock

Remove a password from a document you already have the password for, so the rest of the tools can work on it.

Flatten forms

Turn filled form fields into part of the page itself, so what you send is what the recipient sees.

Clean metadata

Review and clear the author, title and producer fields a PDF quietly carries around.

How it works

From file to finished in a few clicks

  1. 1

    Drop the PDF in

One file or a folder — every operation here batches.

  2. 2

    Choose the operation

Watermark, page numbers, flatten, metadata, protect or unlock, with its settings.

  3. 3

    Apply

The result is written as a new file, on your machine, with the original untouched.

Unlock removes a password you already know. It does not break, guess or crack anything, and it will not open a document you do not have the password for — that is a deliberate limit, not a missing feature.
